Young Researchers’ Congress

Young Researchers’ Congress

University of Gdańsk

unLoc was presented at the Young Researchers’ Congress at the University of Gdańsk! The project was introduced by Karolina Jeleń, a sociology student at UKEN, who collaborated on conducting interviews with residents of Kraków. The congress is an interdisciplinary conference for early-career researchers, organized by the Association of Universities in Gdańsk Daniel Fahrenheit in collaboration with the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and Gdańsk Medical University.
During the event, Karolina Jeleń delivered a presentation titled:
“Socialist Power in Urban Space: PRL Architecture in the Perception of Kraków Residents (Preliminary Findings from the unLoc Project)”
Her talk was part of the panel “Socialist Thought from the 19th to the 21st Century” and highlighted findings from field research, showing how Kraków residents perceive urban space in relation to socialist architecture and its impact on everyday life.
Participation in the Young Researchers’ Congress provided an opportunity to present the unLoc project within an academic context and exchange insights with early-career researchers from a range of disciplines.
